So my laptop crashed and my iphone got iBoned to death over the weekend and pretty much my social life was shot to hell (not that i have one............=*(............). i mean, i know i could have just went on with my life, (like how i did pre-technology), but part of me has grown accustomed to facebook-stalking the pretty to below-average girls i meet outside the mall while they wait for their parents to pick them up.
for two days i was in a rut. i would stare outside my window at the milfs and the housewives jogging in the morning to get my daily "creep" on. but when a police officer knocked on my door, i knew the days of the "Slanty-Eyed Peeper" were numbered. needless to say, i needed some normalcy back in my life.
enter Jonny "Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" Ngo. this man is simply amazing. his business is just starting up, but his knowledge and his work ethic is that of a true time & trial tested professional -- one that puts those iDork geniuses at the Apple store to shame.
i came in with two broken who-za-whatcha-ma-gidgets and a /sadpandaface and Jonny gave me a quick time-frame for getting the job done and a very reasonable price! thanks to the Yelp deal he has on his business page, it was definitely a bargain!
within a couple of days my problems were solved and i could get back to my harmless facebook-stalking routine every monday-sunday night from 7:30PM-11:59PM =)
thanks Jonny & NL Technology! I will definitely come back again for any future tech fix needs and i highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fast, cheap, knowledgeable solution to any tech-related problems!

Deli SA Review
Meat pies? Oh yes. Incredible. I have to go back for the curry. They've got lots of homemade take away items and frozen fare you can heat up at home.
The owner is terrific, friendly, and quite a salesman. He is beyond proud of his nation and his food and eager to share both with you. It makes for a fun, neighborhood atmosphere. There are also occasional cultural events going on, so you will definitely feel like you've become part of a community, not just a patron.
Hidden is an understatement-- this place is located in the back of a business complex, but look for the signs around the parking lot pointing you there. Worth it to taste the food!

Marianne Schaefer, DDS Review
For as long as I can remember, I've been scared to death of going to the dentist. I always mean to make an appointment, but I keep telling myself, "Maybe after I've flossed regularly for a month..." and since that never happens, my teeth have been suffering for...years.
Anyways, when my daughter turned 4, I decided it was time to introduce her to better dental hygiene habits than her mom's. I wanted to make sure that her first visit to the dentist would be one that wouldn't turn her into a dentophobe. After much research, I took my daughter to Dr. Schaefer.
I have to say, I don't think I could've picked a better dentist for my kid's 1st checkup and cleaning. Dr. Schaefer had a cow puppet with teeth, and she showed my daughter what she was going to do by demonstrating on the cow. She explained everything as she went along, and any type of instrument she was going to put in my daughter's mouth, she let her feel it on her hand first so she knew what to expect. I was allowed to sit with my daughter the whole time, which was very important to me.
Dr. Schaefer is friendly to grownups and kids alike. Her office also has a little play area with toys and books so that your kids have something to do while waiting. She also has a chest full of toys that kids can pick a little trinket from on the way out. My daughter got lucky, and Dr. Schaefer let her pick TWO trinkets, one for my daughter and one for my daughter's stuffed puppy.
I don't think she accepts Dental Insurances that are HMOs or PPOs, so I made sure that I changed my Dental Plan this year to one where I can choose any dentist. We hope she'll be our family dentist for many years to come.

Simply Smart Technology Review
I hesitated at first when I approached Simply Smart Technology for computer repairs, thinking it was basically a web design business, but it turned out I made the right decision. The issues I had, ranged from specific to vague. I needed an insolent DVD burner replaced (it worked only when it felt like it). I also wanted an additional gig of RAM installed, and the earphone plug on my machine was losing its grip. On the software side I was getting pop-up messages that this-or-that needs to be reinstalled, and Windows Defender was acting cute telling me I didn't have firewall or malware protection, when in fact I did.
I brought my machine to Erin's shop on Irving Park Rd. an hour before closing and she did the preliminary diagnostics & estimate check. Lo and behold, the computer was fixed and waiting at the same time the following day. And the charges were client-friendly to say the least. She had replaced the DVD burner, added the gig of RAM, and fixed the earphone plug problem with a new sound card. The software issues were gone, that is until I got home and one of them returned. The computer decided I might not have a firewall again. After a couple of fast, detailed emails from Erin, I finally decided to turn off the alarm since I was positive I had firewall/malware protection.
Two days later Erin emailed me again to ensure that everything had turned out to my satisfaction. Now THAT is what I call good business practice. It's been a while but my computer is still humming like new.
I highly recommend Erin's Simply Smart Technology shop and I may even consider a website design in the near future when I start some serious blogging.

Quizno's Review
I've been here more frequently, now that I'm getting out of my Ono's phase. It was right next door and I always wanted to give it a shot but always went with other options for some reason.
The sandwiches here are actually really good... I like to think it's better than Subway if we're comparing the franchises. The quality of the bread and ingredients definitely trump Subway... at least from what I remember from Subway. The Tuscan Chicken is really good and the turkey sandwiches they have are pretty good as well.
For the 'premium' and 'signature' and other fancy-sounding sandwiches that they have, it seems their bread options are limited. The woman at the counter asked if I wanted white or wheat. No Dutch Crunch or fancy schmancy bread? The wheat was pretty good, but regardless... it would be nice to have some options... I think even Subway has more options in the bread department.
That and the fact that the place itself only has two tables and four chairs brings it down to four. Sure, the main reason to eat at Quizno's is to take the sandwich with you to wherever you're going... and you can also eat outside in the two or three other tables they have outside Ono's... but if my friends are eating inside, I'm pretty much screwed.

IHOP Review
Ok Yelp Elite member acceptance committee, here's my first actual business review coming at you like a Brazilian Jujitsu extended knee kick. My prior reviews were bullshit, but not this one. This shit is real.IHOP saved my life last Tuesday.
I would personally like to thank IHOP and all of its shareholders (if this company isn't public it should be, franchising is for amatures) for the sobering 3000 calorie meal that allowed me to safely drive my car home from Union St after what I had promised myself would be a "one drink night" at Blue Light and Bar None.
IHOP on Lombard is an oasis of culture within a homogeneous zone. The 4 egg, hash brown, 4 pancake, 4 slice bacon meal sobered me up and so did the cilentele. Favorites were the Latin Bill Gates look alike with light blue acid wash elastic waste band jeans sitting directly across from me with his arm around a Puerto Rican hooker wearing a red sheer body stocking and dude across the way with the kid n play cut (except not as cool or high) studying the yellow pages and me.
I had to subtract a star because I was burping bacon and pepto the next morning. And because it's IHOP.
